Investing.com – J&J reported on Tuesday third quarter that beat analysts’ forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

J&J announced earnings per share of $2.6 on revenue of $23.34B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $2.36 for revenue $23.66 billion.

J&J shares are up 1% from the beginning of the year, still down 11.00% from its 52 week high of $179.92 set on August 20. They are under-performing the S&P Global 100 which is up 16.88% from the start of the year.

J&J follows other major Healthcare sector earnings this month

J&J’s report follows an earnings missed by Koninklijke Philips ADR on Monday, who reported EPS of $0.4641 on revenue of $4.82B, compared to forecasts EPS of $0.4775 on revenue of $4.87B.

Helen of Troy Ltd beat all expectations with a second quarter earnings per share of $2.65 on revenues of $475.23M. This compares to the forecasted EPS of 2.25 on revenues of $424.64M.
