JERUSALEM (Reuters). Vaccine Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 is extremely effective in preventing disease and symptoms caused by the Delta variant. Research conducted in Israel has shown this.

As the U.S. Drug Watchdog contemplates authorizing the use of the vaccine for children under five years old, the New England Journal of Medicine will publish the findings.

According to the study, vaccine efficacy against COVID-19 infected adolescents was 93% and 90% respectively on the seven-to-21 days following the second dose.

Israel’s Clalit healthcare maintenance organization and Harvard University researchers examined data from 94.354 vaccination recipients aged 12-18 who were matched to an identical amount of unvaccinated teens from the same age.

This research took place between June-September, during which the Delta variant was Israel’s most dominant strain.

Clalit released a statement Wednesday night stating that this was one of largest peer-reviewed studies on the efficacy of the Delta variant vaccine.

An analysis by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that the following information was found earlier this week. Pfizer Inc (NYSE:), /BioNTech vaccine prevented 93% of hospitalisations in children aged 12-18.

Pfizer/BioNTech’s vaccine has been approved for children from 12 to 12. The companies have applied for additional approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its use with children aged 5 and under.

Later this month, a panel of advisors from the FDA are expected to review data concerning young children.

England’s spread of COVID-19 is fueling a surge in cases. Some scientists are concerned that vaccines being introduced in schools at too slow a pace may be a concern.
