Biden respects Fed’s independence, wants ‘top standards’ from officials

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that he believes officials of government should meet high standards. The White House was asked about Thursday’s Federal Reserve stock market ban.

Karine Jean Pierre, spokesperson for the White House, stated that the White House does not have any comment about the ban and supports the Fed’s independence.

She said that “President Biden believes all government agencies, officials, and independent agencies should be held to highest ethical standards. He also suggested that there shouldn’t be any conflicts of interests.
