Factbox-China Evergrande’s upcoming bond coupon payments -Breaking

SHANGHAI, (Reuters) – China Evergrande Group defied market expectations by supplying money to cover interest on a U.S. Dollar bond prior to the end of a grace period that expired on October 23rd.

Evergrande failed to pay coupon payments of nearly $280,000,000 on its dollar bonds, Sept. 23, Sept. 29, and Oct. 11. These coupons were due within 30-day grace periods.

The offshore and onshore bonds are no longer maturing for the developer, but it is still responsible for coupon payments of almost $340 million on its offshore bonds between Nov. 1, 28 and Dec. 28. This amount includes $195,000,000 in missed payments.

Evergrande’s next payment deadline will be Oct. 29. The 30-day grace period that Evergrande has on Sept. 29 is over.
