- This ODL-based synergy will allow users to receive instant, cheap remittances services.
- This will only be available to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ripple revealed that it has entered a partnership with Pyypl (a crypto-based fintech company) to increase On-Demand Liquidity, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Ripple as well as Pyypl are expected to work together in this partnership release. This will allow them to deliver low-cost and instant remittances. According to the report, ODL services will first be offered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as other MENA countries.
Ripple’s fintech innovation aims to speed up remittance services in the MENA by making it easy to send money. Of note, as part of the payment flow, “XRP will not be held mainly in the UAE.” Also, all the transactions under this ODL synergy in the country will not involve AED — the UAE native currency.
Pyypl’s long-term goal to provide digital payments for underserved smartphones users in the MENA region by banking the unbanked will be achieved through this method. Best of all, Pyypl will also use Ripple’s ODL to remove high-cost pre-funded accounts needed in the traditional cross-border payments.
Pyypl’s Co-Founder and CEO Antti Arponen said,
This can be a way to help your company grow and scale by unlocking previously-locked funds.
To cut a long story short, this announcement carries Ripple’s ever-growing presence and momentum ahead in the Middle East and North Africa.
