(Reuters] – Raytheon Technologies (NYSE)’s top boss warned that U.S. aerospace and defense company Raytheon Technologies will lose’severaltausend’ workers who refuse to get COVID-19 vaccinations. This is as Raytheon Technologies prepares to meet Biden’s Jan. 1, immunization deadline.

Raytheon (NYSE) Chief Executive Greg Hayes claimed that “we will lose several thousand people”, adding that staffing was in progress. It employs 125,000 Americans.

Raytheon (the maker of Tomahawk rockets) announced that they will make sure all U.S. citizens are fully immunized by December. It was this after the Biden administration had mandated vaccination for almost all federal workers and contractors to expand coverage.

Numerous federal contractors such as Boeing (NYSE 🙂 Co. 3M and American Airlines have made announcements regarding vaccination requirements since. On Tuesday, Airbus, an European manufacturer of planes that supply helicopters to U.S. Army troops, joined the list.

According to a spokesperson, Airbus will demand that all temporary and permanent employees working in the U.S. be fully immunized against COVID-19 no later than Dec. 8.

Other companies such as Gillette maker Procter & Gamble (NYSE:) Co also have mandates in place.

Not every business is being pushed back by its workers, it’s true. United Food and Commercial Workers (the union representing 26,000 employees at) Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE:) stated Tuesday that over 96% of its employees are now up to date with their vaccinations.

Other large U.S. businesses, such as Walmart (NYSE :), have not yet issued broad requirements. However, they will be required to adopt mandates under the Labor Department standards.

Raytheon’s Hayes, a Raytheon employee, stated separately that Biden’s vaccine mandate will cause some disruption in the supply chain after earnings conference calls.

General Electric (NYSE:) Another federal contractor has also mandated vaccinations. However, it is too soon to know if this decision will have any impact on U.S. conglomerates’ operations.

“We will be able to read better as we move closer towards the compliance date,” Larry Culp (GE Chief Executive) told Reuters.
