Ivy League Institute uses crypto to pay tuitionMany Ivy League Colleges have begun accepting crypto-related payment options as a result of the exponential increase in global adoption.
According to Bloomberg, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the premier business school’s in the US is planning to accept cryptocurrency as part of the tuition for its blockchain and digital assets course that costs $3,800.
As a result, the Wharton School is expected to attract thousands each year.
Guido Molinari is a program developer from Prysm Group and works closely with Wharton. He stated that the course will be the only one at school to integrate digital asset support as it is related directly to the sector.
Wharton School does not have the most innovative educational institutions when it comes adopting digital assets. Back in 2014, students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology received Bitcoin. The University of Pennsylvania also received $5 million from anonymous funds in May.
Wharton School is often referred to as the Alma Mater for many of the top digital asset industry professionals. Elon Musk (NASDAQ:), a prominent crypto enthusiast, graduated from the school back in 1997. Arthur Hayes was also a famous designer of BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange. He had to settle with U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network to avoid paying up to $100m in damages, as BTCPEERS reported.
For now, the business school plans to restrict the use of cryptocurrency payments to only the Blockchain and Digital Technologies course.
