John Eastman was Trump’s attorney and continued to press Pence for an annulment of the election. This even after Trump supporters stormed Capitol.

Eastman tried to convince Pence not to certify the election to permit state legislators to examine Trump’s claims of widespread fraud.

Greg Jacob (Pence’s top adviser) had prepared an opinion article on Trump’s outside attorneys in January. This included email exchanges. But he did not publish the article. The draft was available to the Post.

These emails revealed how Eastman attempted to get Pence to stop certification. It was more extensive than previously reported according to Washington Post.

Eastman had in two legal memos outlined the ways that Republicans can deny Joe Biden access to the White House.

In its probe of Trump’s role during the insurrection, the House Select Committee intends to subpoena Eastman.
