ROME (Reuters). U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken said to Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister on Sunday, that Washington opposes Beijing’s actions that increase tensions in the Taiwan Strait. This was according to a top State Department official.

Blinken met with Wang for an hour on the sidelines of the summit of Group of 20 leaders. He stated that Washington opposed any unilateral change by Beijing to the status-quo.

According to the US official, they want to control the fierce competition among the two world’s largest economies.
