Investing.com – The U.S. Stock Markets opened Week 1 at Record Highs. This is due to the increased confidence from a Third Quarter earnings season, which has for the most part seen businesses continue to produce cash while the world economic recovery continues.

At 9:45 am ET (1345 GMT), it was at 35.977, up 0.4%. It had previously traded over 36,000 points earlier in the day. As the Dow outperformed the other major indices (the Nasdaq Compositve and the Dow Jones Industrial Average), the gains were only 0.2%.
