Investing.com – U.S. stocks rose slightly in afternoon trading, as investors prepare for the Federal Reserve’s announcement later this week.
The U.S. Manufacturing Activity slowed down in October because of supply chain disruptions, according to newly released data. The session saw all major indexes rise to new heights, with the exception of the 36,000 point mark.
According to Reuters, the Institute for Supply Management’s index of national factory activity fell to 60.8 in October. The measure of new orders declined to a 16 month low, and there were still delays in deliveries to raw materials.
On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve will begin its policy meeting. It is anticipated to announce Wednesday that they would start to purchase fewer bonds per month in response to rising interest rate pressure.
Tesla Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 rose 1.2% after hitting a $1 Trillion market capitalization. Harley-Davidson Inc., (NYSE:), jumped 7.9% upon the European Union lifting retaliatory duties on U.S.-made products.
Three things could impact the markets in tomorrow’s future:
1. Pfizer Earnings
Pfizer Inc (NYSE:)’s third-quarter profit per share is expected to come in at $1.08 and revenue at $22.56 billion, according to analysts tracked by Investing.com.
2. Earnings at T-Mobile
T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:)’s revenue in the third quarter is seen at $20.2 billion and profit per share at 48 cents.
3. Earnings at ConocoPhillips
ConocoPhillips (NYSE:)’ third-quarter profit per share is likely to be $1.51 with revenue expected to be $10.71 billion.
