(Reuters) – The Asia-Pacific nations, who have experienced some of the most stringent border control and quarantine regulations in the history of the pandemic are now opening their borders selectively for fully vaccinated foreign travelers as well as unvaccinated family members.

THAILAND

Thailand granted full vaccinations to tourists who had been quarantined in Thailand for a shorter period of time on Phuket’s island.

Visitors must undergo a COVID-19 negative test upon arrival to be eligible for travel.

SINGAPORE

Singapore began in September the gradual opening of quarantine-free, vaccinated travel routes with almost a dozen countries. This now includes the United States and Australia.

From all countries, arrivals are limited to 4,000 per day

AUSTRALIA

Australia allowed all citizens who had been fully immunized and residents of Australia to leave the country on November 1 without any special permission. This was the first such move since March 2020.

New Zealand residents and citizens with full vaccinations who arrive in New South Wales and Victoria are not required to be quarantined. Singaporeans will be able to travel quarantine-free from Nov. 21.

Other Australian states have still to comply with quarantine regulations.

FIJI

Fiji opens to full-vaccinated tourist from different countries (including Australia, New Zealand, the United States) who have made three-night reservations at approved resorts.

After arriving at the resort, all arrivals must pass a COVID-19 rapid test. Visitors can book day trips and use other facilities at the resort before the mandatory COVID-19 test.
