Vertex Earnings, Revenue Beat in Q3 -Breaking

Vertex (NASDAQ) – Investing.com reported Tuesday that the third quarter beat analyst forecasts, and that revenue exceeded expectations.

Vertex posted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.56 on $1.98B in revenue. Investing.com polled analyst to predict EPS at $3.08 for $1.86B revenue.

Vertex shares have fallen 23% since the start of the year. However, they are still 25.46% below their 52-week high of $242.90 on January 25. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is up 23.31% from the start of the year.

Vertex is following other notable earnings from the Healthcare sector this month

Vertex’s report follows an earnings beat by J&J on October 19, who reported EPS of $2.6 on revenue of $23.34B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.35 on revenue of $23.64B.

Thermo Fisher Scientific beat all expectations with a third quarter EPS at $5.76 on revenues of $9.33B. This compares to a forecast of EPS at $4.68 for revenue of $8.38B.
