Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

For December delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.47% to $1781.05 per troy-ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 1.36 percent or $1781.05 to $82.55 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract dropped 1.40 or 1.19, to $83.53 per barrel.

The Australian Dollar/USD exchange rate was 0.7445 higher than the Japanese Yen at 84.84.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.2% at 94.097.
