Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index gained 0.65% and the index added 1.04% at closing in NYSE.

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, NASDAQ: was the best performer of the session. It rose by 3.10% (or 1.48 points) to close at 49.23. During that time, Nike Inc (NYSE: ) gained 2.78%, or 4.67 points, to close at 172.50 Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) In late trading, it was up 1.82% (or 3.89 points), to 218.15.

Activision Blizzard Inc, (NASDAQ:), which fell 14.07% to 65.74 in late trading, and Teleflex Incorporated(NYSE:), which dropped 5.84% to 348.13 Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc (NYSE:), which fell 5.03% at the closing to 169.87

FAT Brands Inc. (NASDAQ:), which rose 99.35% up to 15.45 was the top performer on the NASDAQ Composite. Petros Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ) was up 65.14% and settled at 2.890 iRhythm Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:), which closed at 122.98 after gaining 60.13%

Urban One Inc. Class D (NASDAQ :), which fell 37.60% – 4.580 in latetrade, Skywater Technology Inc. (NASDAQ :), which dropped 36.26% – settle at 20,80, and Urban One Inc. (NASDAQ :), which declined 31.64% – 7.520 by the close.

On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 2114, 1145, and 141 ended unchanged.

The shares of Capri Holdings Ltd. rose to new 3-years highs. This was an increase of 15.85%, or 8.80 to 64.33. Activision Blizzard Inc. (NASDAQ) shares fell by 14.07%, or 10.93, to 66.74.

For December delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.89% (or 15.95) to $1773.45 an troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 4.53% to reach $80.11/barrel, and January Brent oil, which fell 3.99% to trade at $81.34/barrel.

EUR/USD rose 0.3% to 1.1614 while USD/JPY increased 0.03% at 113.99.

At 93.840, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.2%.
