© Reuters. PARIS, (Reuters) – Jean Pierson is a French industrialist, who helped propel planemaker Airbus onto global jet markets and initiated its transformation form a loose association into a European aerospace industry giant. Former colleagues reported that Pierson has passed away.
Pierson, who was 80 years old, died in south France. The Toulouse-based Airbus was his headquarters from 1985 to 1998. His first major deal in America, with Boeing (NYSE:), saw him lead the company.
