Exclusive-Canada would respond to U.S. tax credits for American built EVs

OTTAWA, (Reuters) – Canada will respond appropriately to U.S.-made electric vehicle tax credits. This would benefit workers from both countries, Francois-Philippe Champagne, Innovation and Industry Minister, said Thursday.

Champagne was in Washington to meet with Gina Raimondo (US Commerce Secretary), Eric Lander, White House Science Advisor and Gary Peters (Michigan Senator).

Champagne stated that he and his Canadian counterparts understood the importance of legislation. Champagne spoke from Washington to Reuters by telephone. “We always respond appropriately to these kinds of legislation.”
