Axie Infinity launches Katana the First In-Game Crypto Currency Exchange
  • Katana announced, an in-game cryptocurrency exchange that is part of the Ronin wallet.
  • This exchange also includes assets such as SLP and AXS.

AxieInfinity made an important step in the development of an online game exchange. Two kinds of blockchain gaming projects are possible: one with multiple digital assets, and another with one. The Sandbox contains SAND and Land, Town Star includes GALA and TOWN. Aavegotchi uses GHST exclusively for all in-game activities.

Axie Infinity has introduced two kinds of tokens so far: Smooth Love Potion, which is an in-game resource and Axie Infinity Shards, (AXS), that was limited in supply and represents ownership in a portion of the Axie Infinity Universe. Before the tokens could only be traded on major crypto exchanges. Exchange is now possible within the Ronin wallet ecosystem. This native wallet from Axie Infinity allows for exchange.

Katana was the exchange’s name. You can also find (USDC) or Wrapped (WETH), which are both stablecoins and universal ERC-20 tokens.

Sky Mavis created a CGI trailer to mark the occasion. It showed 3D Axies working close to large machines, reprocessing various types of tokens.

Developers claim lower transaction fees, as well as larger liquidity pools.

To The Flipside

Following the metaverse trend that Mark Zuckerberg established, blockchain games and crypto virtual reality platforms have seen a huge increase in popularity. This is likely just the beginning.
