WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. House of Representatives was set to vote Friday on a bill which would increase spending on roads and bridges as well as other infrastructure. This is a key component of Democratic President Joe Biden’s domestic agenda.

The Senate approved bill will be signed into law by Biden if it passes.

These are the main elements of this package.

NEW SPENDING

$110 billion – Major projects, roads and bridges

– $66 Billion in passenger and freight rail

– $65 Billion Broadband Internet Infrastructure

$55 Billion – Water infrastructure such as the elimination of lead pipes

– $39.2B Public Transit

Electric grid upgrades: $73 billion

$47.2 Billion – Disaster resilience, which includes flood and wildfire mitigation and ecosystem restoration. Weatherization, cybersecurity, and weatherization

– Electric vehicle chargers, and other infrastructure: $7.5 million

Clean up of polluted areas, reclamation abandoned mines, and plugging oil-and gas wells. $21 billion

$17.5 billion – Electric school bus, low emission buses, and ferry
