Bluzelle is a provider of decentralized storage and has just released the long-awaited file storage system, which extends its current data storage solution.

According to the network’s official announcement, the newly added feature is targeted at NFT marketplaces, which will now be able to take advantage of the decentralized storage network. NFT Marketplaces can now store NFT files. This is in contrast to the previous storage system that was restricted to only data storage.

Bluzelle has been positioned as an all-encompassing storage service provider with this latest update. It can host any type of file that requires high security and unmatched availability, as well as censorship resistance.

Decentralized protocols can be used to host content according to NFT standards.

Bluzelle eliminates the old limitations attributed to decentralized storage

Bluzelle’s inception was preceded by many drawbacks. The majority of them were related to high transactional costs and poor usability.

Users were required to pay separate fees for every storage node in a network. Files are stored on one node. As well, file retrieval from the network takes a long time and is expensive.

IPFS, a decentralized storage provider, faced a more difficult challenge. There are no guarantees that files will remain unchanged. It is not possible to recover files after certain time periods, particularly for files that have passive engagement.

File recovery can be difficult or impossible if the node in the storage network goes down or becomes unavailable. Files stored on a malfunctioning node could also crash with it.

Bluzelle, a company that uses advanced replication technology to ensure files are stored across multiple nodes at once, has responded to this issue.

Bluzelle has been able to implement the above feature and achieve an improved retrieval speed, as well as a lower retrieval price, while still remaining completely decentralized. “On Bluzelle, you pay once and get backups across all nodes for the same price,” the network’s website reads.

Speaking on the speed of retrieving files within the network, Pavel Bains, CEO of Bluzelle said that “the concurrent design produces significant performance gains for streaming large files, and frees users from having to pay for additional speed.”

Bluzelle is able, in contrast to previous methods, to maintain immutability of all files stored on the network. Bluzelle’s replication technology allows files to be made available on more than one network node.

As such, files can be still recovered regardless of whether one or more nodes go down. This further ensures the integrity of all files within the network. There are currently approximately 50 network nodes in operation on Bluzelle. This number will grow as more users adopt the network. End-users have access to all nodes at once and can also download files from any of them.

What is the focus on NFT marketplaces?

NFTs are distinguished by their immutability over long periods of time. Some NFT platforms can achieve absolute immutability. However, many DEX platforms or marketplaces are not capable of doing so.

Bluzelle can be integrated into the above-mentioned platforms by serving as a central storage location for NFT content. In this way, it helps to bridge the gap caused by immutability. Bluzelle is a highly efficient and user-friendly platform that provides uncensored and resilient public file storage.

Bains explained the importance of focusing on NFT markets.

Bluzelle is being used by Mintable NFT Marketplace, and more integrations are planned.

“Most people are not aware that most NFTs will disappear in a year or more once either their website is taken offline, it gets censored, or if it’s on IPFS, it will just get deleted from lack of use,”
Burks said so.

Burks stated that Bluzelle on the other side has permanent file storage. It is located across the world and can be recovered by an end user even after fifty years.

Bluzelle is now one of very few storage protocols that can solve NFT storage issues by adding a file system to their offering.
