Meme coins are on the rise, and the (DOGE team) has completed their fee reduction upgrade for transactions on top the DOGE Blockchain. Core 1.14.5, which was released today is for Dogecoin users who want to purchase Dogecoin with a lower fee.

Users are advised to keep an eye on the updates regarding the upgrade as important security improvements are coming. At the moment the suggested block fee limit has been increased to 0.01 DOGE per Kilobyte in the core wallet. In short, it follows the relay fees from 1.14.4.

The 0.01 DOGE/KB fee was eventually set as the default fee for all transactions on-chain. This release is also focused on security and performance enhancements. It is a must-have for both wallet operators and node operator.

In fact, with this milestone development, one of Dogecoin’s main active voices, Elon Musk is very happy. He replied with the tweet with an “important” comment that seems like an endorsement for the Core 1.14.5 upgrade.
