Misinformation about Covid-19 is a crime that has cost millions of lives. Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said Tuesday.
Bourla spoke with the Washington D.C.-based thinktank Atlantic Council and stated that there are a few people who purposely circulate false information about shots to mislead those already reluctant to get vaccinated.
Frederick Kempe of the Atlantic Council said, “Those people were criminals.” They are not evil people. They are criminals for having literally taken millions of people’s lives.”
Bourla’s remarks come at a time when millions of Americans are eligible to be vaccinated, despite the fact that the vaccines have been readily available for most Americans during most of the year. According to public health experts, misinformation may play a major role.
A survey revealed that 80% of respondents are female. published MondayThe Kaiser Family Foundation found that more than three quarters (75%) of American adults believe or deny at least one false statement about Covid, the vaccines. Republicans and unvaccinated individuals are most likely to be misinformed.
The survey found that covid vaccines include microchips and cause infertility.
Bourla indicated Tuesday that people’s lives can return to normal once the remaining unvaccinated are vaccinated.
He stated, “The only thing standing between the new way of living and the old one is, frankly speaking, the hesitancy of vaccinations.”
