REUTERS/Lisi NiesnerSTOCKHOLM, (Reuters) – Infineon, a German chipmaker, reported Wednesday a 10% increase in its fourth quarter revenue. This is due to a worldwide shortage of semiconductors, which has led to higher prices and increased demand for chips that are used in everything from mobile phones to cars.
Based in Munich, revenue increased to 3.47 billion euro ($3.47billion) from 2.72billion euros. That’s more than expected, according to IBES data by Refinitiv.
