France experiencing start of fifth wave of COVID epidemic

PARIS, (Reuters) – France has just begun a fifth wave in the coronavirus epidemic according to Olivier Veran Health Minister.

Veran, TF1 TV, stated, “Several neighbouring countries are already experiencing a 5th wave of COVID epidemic. What we are seeing in France clearly seems like the beginning of a 5th wave.” He added that virus circulation was accelerating.

The Wednesday registration of 11,883 additional cases by the Health Ministry was the second consecutive week with an increase in new cases exceeding 10,000. Since mid-October, new cases saw a double-digit increase in week-to-week numbers.
