Republican Jack Ciattarelli concedes in New Jersey governor’s race -Breaking

(Reuters] -Republican Jack Ciattarelli has conceded defeat in New Jersey’s governor’s race to Phil Murphy. It happened 10 days following an election campaign that saw him narrowing a large lead held by incumbent.

A former state lawmaker of 59 years, Murphy was criticized for his campaign against high taxes. Murphy is a former Goldman Sachs executive (NYSE:).

In recent years, New Jersey has shifted to the Democratic side. By more than 15%, former President Donald Trump was defeated by President Joe Biden.

Murphy (64) is the first Democratic Governor to win reelection in New Jersey for more than 40 decades, despite Republicans being outnumbered by registered Democrats in densely populated New Jersey.
