Hackers compromise FBI’s external email system

(Reuters) – Hackers compromised the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s external email system on Saturday, Bloomberg News reported.

Tens of thousands were sent by hackers from an FBI email address warning about a cyberattack. The report also cited threat-tracking organisation Spamhaus Project.

In a statement, the FBI stated that it is aware of emails from fake accounts.
