(Reuters) – Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was removed Saturday from the National Football League Reserve/COVID-19 List, allowing the three-time Most Valuable Player to take on the Seattle Seahawks.

Rodgers tested positive last week for COVID-19. Rodgers received widespread criticism after he claimed to have been “immunized” in August when reporters asked him if he had ever been vaccinated.

Because of league COVID-19 protocols (which require a mandatory 10 day quarantine period for players not vaccinated who are positive to test positive), the 37-year old quarterback was unable to watch the Packers’ defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Green Bay (7-2), will host the Seahawks (3-3 on Sunday).

Rodgers was not mentioned by the Packers as the starting quarterback. He had only been activated on the reserve/COVID-19 roster.

Rodgers stated that he is allergic to an ingredient found in the mRNA vaccinations. Pfizer BioNTech, and (NYSE: Moderna (NASDAQ:) Inc. And so he declined those.

He did not take the Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:) vaccine due to concerns about side effects, he said.

On Wednesday, the NFL fined Rodgers and his team $300,000. Two players including Rodgers were also penalized $14,650 for their violations of COVID-19 protocols.
