(Bloomberg] — California is the state with the highest gas prices. This comes as California, the nation’s largest state, struggles to cope with the effects of rising energy costs ahead of Thanksgiving.

According to AAA data, California’s retail prices were at an all-time high of $4.682 per gallon Monday. Californians pay higher gasoline prices than elsewhere in the United States due to the high taxes they have and the unique fuel mix used. The national average price per gallon at the pump is $3.415

The Biden Administration is facing increased pressure to relieve rising energy costs by tapping the country’s strategic petroleum reserves or by banning exports. The President said he’s directed his top economic aides to focus on reducing energy costs, which he blamed for accelerating U.S. inflation.
