Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index fell 0.04% at the close of NYSE. It declined 0.00% and lost 0.04%.

These were the best performers of the session Boeing Co (NYSE:), rose by 5.49%, or 12.13 points, to close at 233.09. Meanwhile, Chevron Corp (NYSE:) added 2.27% or 2.59 points to end at 116.82 and McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) was up 0.91% or 2.27 points to 252.94 in late trade.

UnitedHealth Group Incorporated(NYSE:) was the worst performer of the session, falling 1.78% (or 8.19 points) to trade at 455.80 by the end. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 1.06% or 2.23 points to end at 207.40 and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:) was down 0.90% or 1.49 points to 163.52.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ) rose 14.28%, to 129.23. Boeing Co (NYSE;) was up 5.9% to settle at 233.09 and Wynn Resorts Limited NASDAQ: (4.36%), to close at 98.5.

They were among the most disappointing. Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (NASDAQ) was 5.45% lower at 177.60, American Tower Corp(NYSE:), which fell 4.26% to settle in at 260.50, and Laboratory Corporation of America Holdingss (NYSE) was at close with a decrease of 4.01% at 285.31.

Creative Realities Inc. (NASDAQ:), which increased 79.45% and reached 2.620 was the top performing company on the NASDAQ Composite. Patriot National Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ) was up 49.65% and settled at 15.040. Scynexis Inc, meanwhile, gained 25.00% to reach 6.750.

Bit Brother Ltd. (NASDAQ:), which fell 29.06% to 1.800 in late trading, was among the worst-performing stocks. Telos Corp (NASDAQ:), which fell 28.06% to settle in 17.54, and Marathon Digital Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:), which dropped 27.03% to 55.40 by the end.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1764-1480, and 126 ended unchanged.

Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ) shares rose to record highs. They gained 14.28%, or 16.15 to 129.23. Chevron Corp (NYSE) shares rose 52 weeks to new highs. They gained 2.27%, or 2.59 to 116.82. Patriot National Bancorp Inc. shares (NASDAQ:) rose 49.65% to 52-week peak; an increase of 4.990 to 15.040. Telos Corp shares (NASDAQ:), fell to new lows, losing 28.06%. That’s 6.84 points to 17.54.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 1.23% to 16.49.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.19%, or 3.55 to $1864.95 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for January delivery rose 0.14 or 0.18% to $79.83 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract dropped 0.06%, or 0.05, to trade at $82.12 per barrel.

The EUR/USD fell 0.70% at 1.1370 while the USD/JPY rose 0.2% to 114.14.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.4% at 95.505
