The loss was 0.67% at the Sydney close.
Virgin Money PLC:, which gained 2.61% (or 0.08 points) to close at 3.15, was the best performer of the session. Nextdc Ltd., (ASX 🙂 increased 1.81% to 12.39. Afterpay Touch Group Ltd. was up 1.72 points or 1.99 to 117.39.
These were the worst performers of the session. Mesoblast Ltd (ASX 🙂 dropped 8.68% (0.165 points) to trade at 1.7335 at the closing. Resolute Mining Ltd. declined by 4.44% (0.020 points) to finish at 0.430. Pendal Group Ltd. was also down 4.39% (0.30 points) to reach 6.54.
On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress by 881 to 488, and 423 was unchanged at the close.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 6.26% to 12.848.
For December delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.05% to $1865.70/troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.59 or 0.74% to reach $80.34/barrel, and January Brent oil, which rose 0.76 or 0.93% to trade at $82.81/barrel.
AUD/USD declined 0.07%, to 0.7339. AUD/JPY climbed 0.04% to 83.86.
US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.8% at 95.477.
