REUTERS/Edgard Garrido(Reuters) – Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans reiterated Wednesday that the Fed will need to wind down its bond-buying program by the middle of next fiscal year.
Evans stated that they will examine how much inflation is being boosted by additional accommodation. If this is true, then we will consider when it is appropriate to raise rates.
“Then, at some point, we’ll allow the maturing assets of the balance sheets to roll off so we can get the size balance sheet back south from where it is.”
