Macy’s eases worries over holiday season with forecast raise -Breaking

(Reuters] – Macy’s Inc. (NYSE:) lifted its full year sales and profit outlook for Thursday. It eased concerns that Macy’s would face product shortages in the critical holiday season.

Premarket trading saw the retailer’s stock rise by 3%

Department stores made a recovery after last year’s slump that was driven by lockdowns. Americans are returning to work and attending social events and deciding to spend more on formal wear, perfumes and dresses than they did last year.

Retailers have also enjoyed increased sales due to consumers’ concern about the supply of products during Christmas.

According to the company, full-year net revenues are expected to be between $24.12 and $24.28 trillion. This is a contrast to a prior forecast of $23.55 to $23.95 billion.

The 2021 adjusted earnings per shares outlook was also increased to $4.57 to $4.76 from a previous forecast of $3.41 and $3.75.
