Women’s rights group Time’s Up to undergo ‘major reset’ after criticism -Breaking

LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) – Time’s Up was founded by Harvey Weinstein in Hollywood following public disclosures about sexual harassment. On Friday, Time’s Up announced that it will undergo a major reset to help achieve its mission of protecting women at work.

Following public criticism of the group’s close relationships to politicians, and confusion about its mission, this move was taken. Gabrielle Sulzberger (Times Up Chair) said that a report she commissioned was published on Friday. It confirmed “missteps”.

Sulzberger stated, “This is not a retreat. It’s a necessary reset.”

Time’s Up stated that “the structure strategy, staff and personnel of the group” will be rebuilt. Monifa Bandele, interim president and chief executive will step down at the end of the year.

According to the statement, three individuals will continue on a transition team in order to “create a more focused and transparent organization,”

Time’s Up, which was launched in 2018, received support from Hollywood stars like Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
