American Airlines, JetBlue ask court to throw out U.S. antitrust suit -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – American Airlines and JetBlue Airways asked a U.S. court to dismiss an antitrust suit filed on Monday by six states and the Justice Department regarding the “Northeast Alliance” partnership.

It claims that the deal will lead to increased fares at Northeastern U.S. airports, and it seeks to end the alliance. While the airline companies claimed that the alliance was in existence for nine months Monday, they did not claim it caused any increases in prices or any decreases in production.
