Members of beloved ‘Dancing Grannies’ among dead in Wisconsin parade -Breaking

WAUKESHA WI (Reuters) – According to a Wisconsin newspaper, four of the five victims killed in an SUV’s race through a Wisconsin Christmas parade were part of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies. The group is a popular pompom-throwing troupe.
According to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Ginny Srenson was 79 years old, LeAnna Owen was 71 years old, Tamara Durand was 52 and Wilhelm Hospel was 81.
Jane Kulich (52), was fifth victim. According to Jane’s Facebook (NASDAQ) profile, she worked for Citizens Bank. Jane Kulich, 52, was the fifth victim. Her Facebook profile included photos of her family and nature, along with posts regarding the birth of a granddaughter.
They were all killed by a suspect in a violent altercation that occurred earlier in Sunday. The man was out on bail in a domestic abuse case.
On Monday, tributes started to pour in. The Milwaukee Dancing Grannies paid homage via Facebook.
“Those who were killed were very passionate Grannies. Their eyes were gleaming …..[with the]”Joy of being a Grannie,” said the message. We are at our most painful time.
According to CBS58, Sorenson (a registered nurse) was the group’s choreographer. She had been with Grannies for around 19 years.
A dancer described her grandmother, six years old, as “like the soul and heart of God,” “She keeps our feet on the ground.”
A photo taken in 2019 shows Sorenson in her fluffy white coat and blue winter skirt. She smiles while she walks along a street with pompoms.
Sorenson stated that being an instructor is a very important part of her life. She explained that she has had surgery but did not go into detail. It’s a wonderful thing. The ladies are my family. They’re not only my family but also my closest friends.”
The group was seen practicing together in a parking lot wearing wide-brimmed hats and red skirts. Sorenson shouted, “You’re all together!” “I said it, exactly like the Rockettes!”
Owen was also a member of the group. They practiced twice a week, and performed at holidays like Christmas parades or July 4.
Owen joked that “it keeps us young” in the CBS 58 interview.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Durand (52), was also a member.
Tammy was a mother to 9, grandmother to 4, and served as a Chaplain in hospice, emergency and critical care. She was a shining light for Jesus and strong in her faith,” wrote a Facebook user from the account of a Texas-based magazine, Neighbors of Lakeway & Bee Cave.
Durand’s husband Dave Durand, who is the founder and CEO of Best Version Media (which specializes in local news outlets), was mentioned in this post.
