Jamie Dimon walks back on China Communist Party comment -Breaking

(Reuters] – JPMorgan Chase NYSE: Chief Executive Jamie Dimon retracted his comments about China’s Communist Party on Wednesday. He had joked the day before that his bank would outlive China’s Communist Party.

I regret that this comment was made. Dimon explained that Dimon was trying emphasize the strength of the company’s longevity.

JPMorgan spokeswoman said that Dimon acknowledged that it was inappropriate to speak lightly about other countries or their leaders.

Dimon made the joke that the Communist Party was celebrating 100 years, and JPMorgan is too, during a Boston College interview series for CEOs on Tuesday. It’d be a wager that we will last more.

China doesn’t allow me to speak Chinese. “They are probably listening anyway,” added he.
