Coinbase Announces Acquisition of Crypto Wallet Firm BRD -Breaking

Investing.com — U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ) late Wednesday announced that it had acquired BRD, a crypto wallet company.

Coinbase shares were down 1.5% Wednesday.

Coinbase Wallet did not provide financial details, however, a Tweet stated that BRD was joining Coinbase Wallet to speed up web3 adoption.

We have some great news: The BRD team will join @CoinbaseWallet To accelerate web3 adoption. “Wallet will enable more people to securely and safely access crypto’s decentralized world by bringing in deep expertise for self-custody of crypto wallets,” said the tweet.

BRD was founded in 2014. It is currently in over 170 countries and has more than 8 million clients.
