These were the best performers of the session Reliance Industries Ltd (NS): saw a 6.02% increase or 141.55 point to close at 2492.95. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd., (NS:), gained 2.50% or 117.0 points to trade at 4799.80. ITC Ltd (NS-:) saw a 1.58% increase or 3.60 point to 231.30 by late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS): The close was 125.65, down 1.53% or 1.95 point. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS) fell 1.26%, or 96.95 point to close at 7572.50 Britannia Industries Ltd (NS) fell 1.20%, or 43.35 point to 3580.00

Reliance Industries Ltd. rose 6.10%, to 2494.40. ITC Ltd. was up 1.49%, to settle at 231.30. Infosys Ltd. gained 1.47%, to close at 1722.45.

IndusInd Bank Ltd., which fell 1.27% to 959.10 late trade, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(BO:), which dropped 1.23% at 7569.95, and ICICI Bank Ltd. (BO :), which declined 1.22% at 750.90 close.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1126 to 636, and 38 ended unchanged.

USD/INR fell 0.13% at 74.509 while EUR/INR rose 0.9% to 83.6000.
