Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index losing 2.87% and the NSE fell 2.91%.

These were the best performers of the session Cipla Ltd. (NS) climbed 7.42%, or 66.75 point to close at 966.70. Meanwhile, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:) added 3.47% or 159.30 points to end at 4750.90 and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:) was up 2.88% or 138.00 points to 4937.80 in late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. JSW Steel Ltd (NS), fell 7.67% to 52.25 points, closing at 628.65 Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS) fell 6.72%, or 30.05 points, to finish at 417.00 Tata Motors Ltd (NS:), was at 460.20 with a drop of 6.61%, or 32.55 point.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.32% to 4744.90, Nestle India Ltd (BO:) which was up 0.35% to settle at 19255.00 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which gained 0.01% to close at 3143.90.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(BO:), which fell 6.1% to 901.45 by late trade, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.. (BO 🙂 lost 5.27% at 7170.90, and Tata Steel Ltd. (BO 🙂 dropped 5.23% at 1112.25 at close.

By 1438 to 355, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced on the India National Stock Exchange. 29 ended unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange had 2172 fall and 1042 advance, with 100 ending unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty50 options (the ) was up 24.85% at 20.8025, a new six-months high.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was higher by 1.37%, or 24.40, to $1808.70 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell by 6.20%, or 4.86, to $73.53 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract dropped 5.28%, or 4.34, to trade at $77.88 per barrel.

USD/INR increased 0.60%, to 74.922. EUR/INR rose by 1.26%, to 84.5045.

At 96.325, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.56%.
