European shares start December on a high; Omicron impact in focus -Breaking

Investors remain cautious however about the impact of the Omicron variant on economic activity over the winter months.

After prices recovered, miners gained 2%. Oil stocks rose 2.1% ahead of an OPEC meeting in which major oil producers discuss ways to address possible lower demand. [MET/L] [O/R]
The European Union may approve COVID-19 vaccines that target this new variant within three to four months. Emer Cooke, regional drug regulator chief, said Tuesday. He added that the existing shots will continue to offer protection.
