Greek growth could be higher than 4.5 percent in 2022

ATHENS (Reuters – Greece’s projected growth of 4.5 percent in 2022 is expected to be exceeded, Prime Minister KyriakosMitsotakis announced on Wednesday. The country also expects a profitable tourism season, subject to any possible complications due the COVID pandemic.

During an interview at the Reuters Next conference Mitsotakis stated that authorities could have even higher growth projections than 4.5 percent.

“Assuming that there are no significant hiccups in the pandemic and assuming the pandemic will gradually end within the first six month of 2022, I am very optimistic about the Greek economy’s prospects.”
