Alitalia successor ITA orders 28 aircraft from Airbus -Breaking

PARIS (Reuters) – Italy’s new ITA Airways ordered 28 Airbus aircraft, according to the German-French consortium. This statement was made Wednesday and confirmed a Memorandum of Understanding that had been signed in September.

Seven compact A220 jets are included in the order, as well as eleven A320neo models, and ten widebody A330neo airliners.

According to the company, “In addition to this, the airline will keep its plans for leasing A350s in order to supplement its fleet modernisation.”

After years of loss and failures, Alitalia was eventually grounded and ITA began flying instead of Alitalia.
