Razer shares move after privatization offer

RazerShares plunged by more than 8 percent Thursday, after Tan Min-Liang’s consortium offered to buy the Hong Kong-listed gaming company.

CVC Capital Partners is also in the consortium and has offered to make a payment of up to 10.79 trillion Hong Kong dollars (1.38 billion) for all outstanding shares. according to a regulatory filing.

The group will buy these shares as part of the agreement at 2.82 Hong Kong Dollars apiece, which represents a 5.6% increase based upon Razer’s Wednesday closing price.

According to company spokespersons, the current offer price was final and would not be increased.

Stock traded briefly above 4 Hong Kong dollar, but did not hold that price for long.

Razer stated in its regulatory filing that the shares have suffered from low investor participation and low liquidity for a long time.
