United Airlines sees threat to transatlantic travel from Omicron -Breaking

(Reuters) – United Airlines Holdings (NASDAQ) Inc stated that the Omicron variation of COVID-19 was a danger to translantic transport. This statement confirmed comments made by its chief executives to Financial Times.

Scott Kirby (NYSE :), CEO of the airline, stated to the newspaper that the company will be flying less to Europe this January as a result.

Up to 17% in passenger revenues was generated by transatlantic routes, the largest long-haul markets.

Kirby worries that passengers will not travel on key routes due to Omicron discovery. But, he isn’t expecting a change in United’s overall outlook. The FT reported.

In an email statement, the company stated that it will continue monitoring the situation and adjust its schedule as needed.
