(Reuters) – Detectives will interview an artist linked to Detroit’s studio, where parents of a juvenile accused Michigan school shooter were discovered following a manhunt. A local sheriff stated on Sunday that the investigation was ongoing.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard indicated that Andrzej Silkora (65) will be interviewed to ascertain his role, if any.

“We will vigorously investigate the totality of the situation so a determination can be made if there is any criminality or obstruction of justice involved,” Bouchard said. “Our findings will be presented to the prosecutor.”

An attorney representing Sikora, Clarence Dass, said in a statement to the Detroit Free Press that his client “maintains his innocence throughout this process and is fully cooperating with law enforcement to assist in their investigation.”

Ethan Crumbley (aged 15) was taken into police custody following Tuesday’s shooting rampage at Oxford High School. It is located in suburban Oakland County about 30 miles (48km northwest of Detroit). A total of four students were killed and seven others were injured, one being a teacher.

The U.S. Marshals Service, FBI agents, and police all joined forces to search for James Crumbley. Marshals Service began looking for James Crumbley (45) and Jennifer Crumbley (43) after Oakland County authorities announced that the couple were facing manslaughter allegations.

They were accused of buying the weapon for their teenage son early in Christmas and not realizing that they had been planning to carry out a massacre at high school.

The Detroit Police Chief James White stated to reporters on Saturday morning that Sikora and his wife were found in an east-side commercial building. White stated that they were not able to break into the building but were allowed in by an access person.

Dass stated that Sikora reached out to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office after the Crumbleys’ arrest.

“Mr. Sikora is not being charged for any crime. Nevertheless, upon learning of the Crumbleys’ arrest on December 4, 2021, he voluntarily contacted the Detroit Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to provide information,” Dass said in his written statement to the Free Press.

James Crumbley, Jennifer Crumbley all pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Saturday to four charges of involuntary killing. They were both ordered detained in lieu of $500,000 bail.

The Crumbleys’ attorney said that the couple was not trying to escape law enforcement, but had intended to surrender to it.

The attack left a wounded student, aged 14, in a critical condition. He was discharged from the hospital on Sunday. Unstable condition remains for one student who is currently in the hospital.
