VITRY–SUR-SEINE (France) – Adele Bellot, a French archivist, went on Tuesday with one goal in mind: to save Christmas.

My family is getting older and Christmas is fast approaching. She said she was determined to keep them infected after receiving her third shot from a Vitry sur-Seine vaccine center, which is just outside Paris.

The holidays are fast approaching and there is a fifth wave in the pandemic sweeping through France, fueled by fears about the Omicron variant.

A booster has been given to more than 9,000,000 French citizens. According to Doctolib, 464,000 booster appointments were made in France by its app on Monday.

Liliane Tiburce (73), said that she was glad to have her booster shot before Christmas.

“This is something I am happy about, especially before any holiday or celebrations.” “My children and grandchildren are coming so it’s the best,” she stated.

Chantal Simon, head nurse, said that the Vitry-sur-Seine vaccine center was becoming overwhelmed like other centers in France.

Everybody says it: “There is not enough space. She said that people call her to tell them they can’t find appointments.

More than 90% of French 12 years and older have had at least one shot and more people are now getting their third. Prime Minister Jean Castex stated Monday that France does not require any more restrictions, as opposed to some other countries.

He said that the virus is still being spread and nightclubs would be closed for up to four weeks. Children will also be vaccinated.

First-timers were also present at the Vitry-sur-Seine vaccine center. Viviane Chieze, a pensioner, received her first jab, despite concern over the speed with which COVID-19 vaccines have been developed.

She replied, “My doctor.” I was told off by him… He said it was illegal to refuse vaccinations.
