(Reuters] – Meta Platforms Inc stated Tuesday that Stan Chudnovsky who was also responsible for the integration and management of messaging applications on the social network, Meta Platforms Inc, would be leaving the company in 2022.

Chudnovsky started Meta over seven years back as the messaging product head. In 2018, Chudnovsky was promoted to Messenger Head.

After IronPearl (a company that he founded and which was used to track users) was bought by Paypal in 2013, he had worked previously as the global strategy head for Paypal.

Chudnovsky posted on Facebook that he would be leaving Meta “sometime in Q2 next Year,” Chudnovsky stated.

While I don’t plan to retire, it is something that I look forward to, and for many, long months.

Facebook is trying to connect messaging across all its apps. It first allowed it to be done between Messenger and Instagram last September. Similar moves were made with Messenger and its nameake app in August.

Chudnovsky stated that Loredana Crisan has been working at Meta almost 6 years and will assume the position of Messenger leader. This includes Instagram messaging as well as Messenger Kids.

Chudnovsky stated that Maher Saba will supervise remote presence products as well as head engineering.

In October, Facebook changed its name to Meta. This rebranding came at a time regulators and lawmakers were critical of Facebook’s market power and algorithmic decisions.
