Futures rise after positive vaccine update from Pfizer -Breaking

(Reuters) – U.S. Stock Index Futures rose after drugmakers Pfizer BioNTech and NYSE: reported that a 3-shot dose of the COVID-19 vaccine had a neutralizing effect in laboratory tests against the Omicron coronavirus.

Premarket trading saw Pfizer shares rise 0.8% They also stated that they could deliver an Omicron-based vaccine as soon as March 2022 if necessary.

With Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE) and Delta Air Linesss (NYSE) seeing their shares rise 2.6% and 2.4%, earlier falls in the travel stock market, these stocks are now recovering.

After reports that Britain might implement stricter COVID-19 measures including the advice of working from home as soon as Thursday, futures on U.S. stock indices lost ground earlier today. This was in an attempt to stop the spread Omicron.

According to the World Health Organization, Omicron has already been detected in 56 countries and hospitalizations are likely to increase as the virus spreads.

Wall Street swings wildly as Wall Street fears that the introduction of the new type could lead to countries imposing new restrictions. This could disrupt the global recovery, at a moment when many central banks are looking to return to the pre-pandemic environment.

At 7:05 am. ET was up 173 points (or 0.48%), were up 20.75 point(0.44%) and were up 62.25%, or 0.388%.

As market participants grabbed beaten-down stocks of technology, Tuesday’s close by the Nasdaq exceeded 3%

The momentum in big technology stocks continues with Amazon (NASDAQ;), Alphabet(NASDAQ:), Microsoft, Apple (NASDAQ) all increasing between 0.3% to 0.7%.
