On December 8th, Sky Mavis announced that it would be lowering the price of breeding Axies, Axie Infinity’s in-game pets. The gameplay mechanic of breeding allows players to make new characters using Axies that they already have. The rarer Axies that are used to breed, the better the chances of obtaining a unique pet user.

Sky Mavis reduced the breeding prices by half two months ago. It was 1 AXS, or $68.33, at that time. This happened after Sky Mavis achieved $2B in revenue. The price of breeding will now be 0.5 AXS. That’s $54 right at this time.

However, breeding SLP will cost triple as much, purely based on in-game currency. SLPs’ price has not fallen by 50% since the announcement. Tomorrow’s changes are effective at 3:00 UTC on December 9th.

Due to the implementation of Katana, Axie Infinity’s in-game crypto exchange, you can decide for yourself in which currency to pay the fees, simply by making an exchange without even leaving the game.
