Investing.com — On Wednesday, stocks traded flat after an initial surge of shares. This was due to new European restrictions that slow Omicron’s spread. However, there were also news reports suggesting the variant may be more severe than originally thought.

Pfizer Inc (NASDAQ:), and BioNTechSE (NASDAQ:) stated that the vaccine against Omicron appears to have been effective after three doses. They also said that they can upgrade the vaccine up until March 2022 if required.

Boris Johnson, U.K. Prime Minister, told citizens to go home from Monday to avoid being caught in traffic jams and to follow the rules of vaccination and masking for people who are in crowded areas. Denmark closed all schools and bars early and restricted the hours of operation for restaurants and bars.

However, travel stocks recovered on Wednesday.

The last week has seen investors trying to determine whether this new version was enough to stop the rally that lifted indexes to new heights. This is especially important now that central bankers are trying to withdraw from extra stimulus that they provided to economies to combat the pandemic.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (director-general, World Health Organization) said that countries should immediately reevaluate their national responses against Covid-19 and speed up their vaccination programs in order to stop the Omicron variant spreading, Reuters reported.

These are the three factors that will impact markets tomorrow.

3. Oracle earnings
